Downloading Google Chrome

An overview of Google Chrome

There are so many web browsers to choose from. Google seems to monopolise the computer world, and their version of web browser, Google Chrome means that you can do all your Internet searching with Google. Google search tool, Google browser etc. How do we download Google Chrome? Is it really a free download? It seems all good to be true. What about the competing web browsers?

With our backs firmly turned on the days of trading face to face, and our fingers embedded in keyboards with our world a passage of information which travels through the air in a way that we don’t really understand, has come a new age where technology changes as quick as the passing tide.

Google Chrome

Google on Google Chrome

When your business is reliant on the Internet, having a web browser that is fast and safe and easy to use is essential, but what do you use?

With Google Chrome the answer is not in what it does, but why they made it.

Google claim to have made the web browser for the good of the Internet users, and its available to download free. They have a holistic approach to the technology, welcoming input and claiming a ‘for the greater good’ attitude.

Google Chrome was first released in September 2008 as version 2.0, and has been constantly updated ever since in an attempt to make it the best web browser available. Google Chrome has even adopted different appearance options, so you can stylise your web browser. The fact that they are constantly improving and updating their technology is a testimony to their dedication, and something the consumer should put great weight on as keeping up with technology is not something the general public have the capacity for.

Google Chrome boasts it has lightning speed, simplicity for easy use and style. It has applications which assist in searching information, pictures and movies all at your fingertips. Security features are the primary bonus however, due to the predators that are constantly trying to bombard us with pop-up after pop-up of unwanted material, the psychotic virus creators which want to destroy us for who knows what reason, and the 21st century thieves which will defraud in ingenious but devastating ways.

The most interesting phenomenon is the conflict that occurs in the competing technology. Who stole which program from whom, and was it reverse engineered from what etc. and general arguments of who is the best. Well I have the answer for the programmers to set their program above the rest.

All they need to do is make it wash the dog and cook dinner for you. No I am not crazy, although that first statement is a little far fetched. But why not extend the computers usefulness in the practicalities of the real world? With the world of automated appliances, why not a tool bar with a ‘make me a coffee’ button? We could search for the latest fad diet while we pressed a button to turn the sprinkling system on and set the vacuum maid to work.

These are all possibilities, as there are not many day to day chores which can’t be done by a machine, and their aren’t too many machines which don’t have a computer in them allowing them to be set to timers or programmed to your specifications.

There is some food for thought for Google anyway. I’ll just press a button and get that for you…….

And Here Comes Chromium

If Chrome wasn't good enough Google are in the development stage of Chromium and Chromium OS. Anyone would think that Google were attempting to take over the Internet world altogether!

On a more serious note it appears that hackers have been concentrating their efforts on Internet Explorer, which means that Google will hopefully be a safer alternative. It is a realistic possibility that the evolution of the google web browsers and operating systems will keep in front of the hackers and Internet criminal mind offering us all some security.
