Information to assist in purchasing Moses Basket Sheets

Moses basket sheets are a very specific product for one purpose only, and that is to use in a Moses basket. The most important questions a consumer has are, firstly, is it worth spending money on something which has a short life span? Secondly, is it going to make my baby more comfortable? Moses basket sheets are also a simple item that can be easily purchased on-line.

Moses baskets are a preferred option for many for their newborn as they are cosy, can easily fit into the parent’s bedroom and can be moved around the house. The basket can also be placed inside the cot to assist with this transition.  Although only useful for a few months (unless used for a premature baby), the advantages for the parents and baby make for extra comfort during a predominately sleepless and difficult time.

The home is the primary caregiver’s workspace, and anything which reduces stress and enhances the functionality of the home is hard to put a monetary value on. There are a variety of brands of Moses baskets sheets available, and as there is a variance in baskets and sizes, make sure when you are choosing your sheets to check the dimensions. The best bet is to purchase the fitted sheets, as the elastic will generally allow for this variance ensuring a proper fit.

Don’t forget to consider the season and the temperature your baby will be sleeping in, as if you purchase a light cotton variety and baby is due in the middle of winter you may wish you had more foresight. Mention this to well meaning friends and relatives who offer to purchase necessities as gifts. You would be amazed how many people may not have regard for the seasons.

If budget is an issue, there are other options than purchasing the specific sheets which may also appeal to you. I found that most muslin wraps fit perfectly in the Moses basket. There isn’t the elastic fit that comes from the fitted variety, but these wraps do have more uses for a baby for years rather than months. It all depends on what suits you and how much you are able to spend.

A final word of advice is to purchase more than one set of sheets. People always say mother knows best, and my mother told me you should always have at least three sets of sheets. This allows for one on the bed, one in the wash and one spare in the cupboard. If you find a set of sheets, or other option which suits you best, get three straight up. You will be prepared for the nights to come.
